ProRes is not a new format. It is commonly used in the post-production industry for video editing. It is a lossy video compression format developed by Apple that supports up for 8K resolution. If you’re a videographer or videographer using your iPhone 13 Pro to capture clips, ProRes is a useful addition as it can capture more useful detail while editing. This doesn’t mean that videos recorded in ProRes will look better than regular videos, the extra data is only useful in post-production workflows.
