Step 1: Log in to your Tumblr account. Once you are on the dashboard, click on the account icon and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: On the Settings screen, click Privacy.
Step 3: Turn off the switch next to Show others you’re active. You should see a green-colored Saved notification flash briefly to indicate that your changes have been saved.
You can now exit the Settings screen and your activity status should no longer be displayed up for other users. Note: If Tumblr doesn’t save the change, just reload the page and try again – it should save just fine.
Android
Step 1: load up your Tumblr app, then tap the account icon. On the next screen, tap the gear-shaped settings icon.
Step 2: Tap General Settings, then tap Privacy.
Step 3: Turn off the switch next to Show others you’re active.
Done! Note: Do you see Others being able to find you by email? If you prefer that someone can’t find you through your email address, consider turning this off for even more privacy.
iOS
Step 1: Open the Tumblr app and tap the account icon. Then select one of your blogs – it doesn’t matter which one.
Step 2: Tap the gear-shaped settings icon. In the cascade menu, tap General Settings.
Step 3: Tap the option labeled Privacy.
Step 4: Tap the switch next to Show others you’re active.
All done! Note: If you have disabled your activity status from desktop and the change is not reflected on your Android or iOS mobile device, you’ll need to force quit and restart the Tumblr app for it to take effect.
