Guide: How to Run Android on PC or Mac
If you like Android mobile devices, you are going to adore Android on a PC. You may be looking forward to multitasking on Android, that is, you can run multiple apps at the same time. Or maybe you want an Android app or game on your desktop or laptop, which is not available by default for your Windows PC. Whatever your reason, Android for PC is a handy concept that brings your favorite mobile apps to the big screen. Unlike Android TV, you do get that use apps side by side as on any modern multitasking platform. For example, you can polish up your next presentation while watching the news on YouTube. You can of course run apps on an Android emulator; Emulators can be buggy and slow, however, and they barely support all apps and games in the Play Store. Or you can install Android on your PC and enjoy apps and games with excellent performanceThat said, let’s start installing Android on PC.
Introduction of Bliss OS
In this guide, I am going to use Bliss OS to install Android on PC. Bliss OS is an Android for PC operating system from the team that brought you Bliss ROMs (one of the popular custom Android ROMs). It is built on the top of Android x86 – the first and original open source project to experiment with Android for PCs. Bliss OS comes with tons of featuresFirst of all, it supports Google Play Store so you can enjoy most apps and games for Android. Then it offers customization features as Bliss ROMs so you can make it your own. It also adds various compatibility, performance and security features
Requirements
You must meet the following requirements before installing Bliss OS.
Download Rufus for Windows from its website. Download Bliss OS from here (do choose a stable build). Buy a flash drive with at least 4 GB of storage space.
Prepare the Flash disk
Before installing Bliss OS (or any other operating system), you must have a bootable installation disc, which you can use to install the operating system. In this case, you need to create a bootable flash drive with Rufus. When you’re done, follow the steps below:
Install Bliss OS on PC
First of all, you need to boot with the bootable disk you created in the last section. You need to know to boot from a portable drive (google it for your system). However, the test party is not over yet. After booting into Bliss OS, you need to test the essential hardware such as keyboard and mouse (or touchpad), wifi, bluetooth, battery, etc. For example, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth did not work on my system, although all other hardware worked great for me. If you are sure that everything is working fine with Bliss OS and you want to install it permanently on your system, proceed with the steps below: This is an optional part, which is only necessary if you want to create a new partition using the free space on your system disk to install Bliss OS. Either you have a ready-to-use partition to install Android on PC, or you created it in the last section. Either way, you can now install Bliss OS.
When Bliss OS is launched for the first time, it shows you a beautiful lock screen just like Android. You can swipe up with the mouse / touchpad to unlock the screen. Then it will ask you Please select one Home app
I propose to choose Desktop mode because it’s a home screen with a taskbar at the bottom.
You finally see it home screen with a taskbar, unlike Android, if you select Desktop mode. If you click on the Bliss icon at the bottom right, you’ll see the app menu along with a search bar, kind of like the Windows Start menu.
Bliss OS is fantastic, thanks features Like it The desktop mode of Android 10The best catch is the support for multitasking – running apps side by side. For example, you can open Settings along with Notes (as shown in the screenshot). Or you can finish your presentation or take notes while watching the latest news. It also includes a lot of customization features, which are borrowed from Bliss ROMs. You will find such options under Settings> Blissify, where you can see the adjustment options under tabs. You can change the look & feel of the lock screen, recents screen and status bar or the entire interface.
Finally, Bliss OS also supports the Google Play Store – the largest and most secure app store for Android. In addition, it is installed with the Play Store. So you can just launch the app, log into your Google account and start downloading your favorite apps and games. That’s the most exciting part of Bliss OS, agree?
