Guide: How to Preview Most Used Google Services in Chrome
Many users rely heavily on Google services. Including me. And I use most of their web applications. If you know, there is a black navigation bar at the top of every Google website that makes it easy to navigate their services. But this navigation bar is not available on other non-Google sites. So, how to get this navigation bar on other sites and quickly access Google services? Too many services | Yeamake / Shutterstock After digging enough in the Chrome Web Store, I found an extension that solves this problem. It doesn’t give you a navigation bar, but a menu that allows you to quickly access your most used Google services and also get a small preview of the service in the menu itself.
The black menu
Black Menu is the Chrome extension that gives you quick access to your favorite Google services. So let’s explore some of his interesting ones features and see how to adapt it to your needs.
Fast access and examples
Immediately after installing the extension, your signed-in Google accounts will automatically sync with it. However, you must give permission for services such as Gmail and Keep. So it’s pretty easy here, you get the Google service on the right as a menu. Hover over a service and on the left you will see a widget-style preview of the service. You can interact with the specific service in the widget. You can search Google and YouTube, send emails with the Gmail widget and translate with Google Translate. All services work well in the widget. Do you like to follow music trends? Here’s a Chrome app that will keep you on trend.
Select your favorite services
Hover over the More menu option and you will get a list of all Google services that can work with this extension. So you just have to drag and drop your favorite services in the menu. To remove any of the services from the menu, drag the service to the More menu option.
Multiple accounts
You can sign in to multiple Google accounts in the extension. Click the profile picture icon and then click Add account. This can be useful for Gmail and other Google services such as Calendar and Keep. Do you want to easily access multiple Gmail accounts? Here’s an extension that allows you to do this.
Open Widget in a new tab or panel
You can open a specific widget in a new panel and use it as a standalone application. To open the extension in a new tab, right click on the extension icon and you will get the Open in New Tab option.
Settings
In the settings you can adjust options for specific services. You can also opt for it how to open the widgets in the extensions from hover to click. There is also an option for unread counts in the extension. There are still experiments with the unread number on the extension.
Is there another cool way to access Google services?
