WhatsApp has launched a new feature in India to help its users find the nearest Covid-19 vaccination center. The messaging app will use a chatbot developed in collaboration with several healthcare partners who will operate this and a few other hotlines. To simplify the vaccination process and identify the closest locations, the MyGov Corona Helpdesk WhatsApp chatbot helps people find locations where vaccinations are being done. It should be noted that the chatbot powered by AI platform Haptik was launched last year to fight misinformation and share authentic information when it comes to understanding the novel coronavirus. The development was recently shared by WhatsApp head Will Cathcart via a tweet. Cathcart expressed his concern about the difficult times in India and announced WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to support Covid-19 related helplines on WhatsApp for its users. The functionality has been added in the WhatsApp MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot. As a reminder, the chatbot was launched early last year when the world was first confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic. Over time, the Facebook chat app has expanded its functionality, which now includes information about the nearest Covid-19 vaccination center.
