8. Reset Windows Update Component
Locate and open the Command Prompt with administrator privileges in the Windows Start menu.

9. Update drivers
Find and open Device Manager from the Start menu.
Expand categories one by one to see if there is an exclamation mark next to a driver’s listing. If so, you must update it.
You can also check and update all drivers using driver utilities that will save you time and effort. Try upgrading to Windows 10 again after restarting your computer once to check if the installation hangs somewhere. It takes less than two hours for the process to complete. A lot also depends on your internet speed and whether you have an HDD or SSD installed in your computer.
10. SFC scan
Open the command prompt again with administrator privileges and issue the command below. sfc / scannow
The System File Checker or SFC scan checks all protected system files on your computer for errors and corruption. It will automatically replace damaged files with a cached copy to make sure everything is running again. Do not close the CMD window until the scan is complete and 100% in it.
11. Clean boot
A recently installed app or software program may be responsible for a conflict that causes the Windows 10 upgrade to hang halfway through. Restart your computer and see if you can find the culprit.
12. Remove third-party apps
Remove apps found guilty in the last step. If that doesn’t help, then uninstall any third-party apps installed on your computer.
